Governor to present 2025 state of the island address

Six years under the Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration.
Her first term was filled with pandemic response. Her second term began with a major storm, Typhoon Mawar, leaving Guam devastated with many to this day still in recovery.
Tonight we’re bringing you a special edition of KUAM News Primetime, only half an hour earlier to bring you both the news and live coverage of the Governor's address.
Adelup will tell us Governor Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero will outline Guam's path forward.
This year’s address will focus on the continued momentum of our economic recovery, efforts to ease the cost of living for working families, progress in housing and healthcare, and the challenges posed by federal uncertainty.
The front office also shared that the community can expect bold, future-focused proposals aimed at strengthening our island and improving the quality of life for all.
We recently asked her about what she plans to tell the island.
“Of course, tourism and the recovery of the tourists. Of course, the hospital is always my top priority and how do we deal with issues and decisions being made by the federal government,” said Leon Guerrero.
The Governor's address comes a couple of weeks after she returned from her trip to Washington DC.
Gov. Leon Guerrero there testified before the Department of Interior’s Interagency Group on Insular Affairs 2025 Plenary Session, urging federal leaders to prioritize investments in Guam's healthcare and housing infrastructure.
In her testimony, Gov. Leon Guerrero also underscored the pressing need for a modern medical campus to support both civilian and military populations. She highlighted how COVID-19 exposed critical gaps in healthcare infrastructure, leaving Guam's only public hospital unprepared for mass casualty events.
She even called on federal support, stating that a state-of-the-art facility is essential to ensuring healthcare security for Guam and the region.
Each among the topics the Maga's Haga said will be mentioned in her address tonight.
