Senator Taitague questions delayed payments to Attorney General’s Office

The Oversight Chair of the Attorney General's Office wants answers about ongoing delays in payments.
Senator Telo Taitague wrote a letter to Department of Administration Director Ed Birn stating AG Doug Moylan highlighted the issues his office has been facing with DOA.
The senator stated, “Timely payments are essential to maintaining government operations without disruption. The OAG relies on these funds to fulfill its critical role in serving our island community. Delayed payments not only hinder the Attorney General’s ability to carry out essential legal and law enforcement functions but also negatively impact vendors that support government operations.”
She also notes disruptions in Child Support Enforcement Services can have severe consequences for families and children who depend on these resources.
The OAG has documented 646 delayed payments from January 2023 to the present.
