Piti residents forced to evacuate in early morning apartment fire

Residents in an apartment building in Piti were forced to evacuate the building after it caught fire early Tuesday.
Viewer-submitted video showed smoke billowing in the air.
It happened at 6:38 am at a complex off Route 1 Marine Corps Drive next the 76 gas station.
Units with the Guam Fire Department arrived to find two apartment units covered in flames.
The fire was under control within 20 minutes, according to GFD spokesperson Lt. Nick Garrido.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
First responders had to temporarily close the outer northbound lane, until firefighters were able to clear the scene.
The Guam Power Authority also responded to the scene.
