New developments into the officer-involved shooting in Dededo that involved a drunk driver.

KUAM confirmed the Guam police officer that pulled the trigger is Officer Justin Quenga.

You may recall, Officer Quenga was cleared of manslaughter and negligent homicide charges in connection to the deadly gas station shooting in Dededo reported back in 2022.

Attorney General Doug Moylan called for the dismissal then stating Quenga acted in self-defense.

That could very well be the case in this latest officer-involved shooting.

An internal affairs investigation is underway.

Officer Quenga was forced to pull his duty weapon on a drunk driver identified as Angela Tenorio.

Tenorio allegedly disobeyed officers orders as they redirected traffic at a crash scene near the Micronesia Mall early Monday morning.

Investigators said the officer opened fire as he was concerned for the safety of those at the scene.

We should note it appears Officer Quenga took swift and appropriate action in this instance but again the matter is being investigated internally by GPD.

KUAM reached out to Police Chief Stephen Ignacio for comment.

Meantime, Defendant Tenorio remains held in the Department of Corrections.
