CNMI mourns the loss of Honorable Oscar Babauta

The CNMI Office of the Governor announced the passing of the Honorable Oscar M. Babauta, a beloved and respected leader.
Babauta’s distinguished career spanned many years of dedicated public service, during which he held several key positions, including Speaker of the House, Secretary of the Department of Public Lands, Special Assistant for Administration, among other key government positions.
Throughout his tenure, he was a steadfast advocate for the people of the Commonwealth and played a pivotal role in shaping the future of our community.
Mr. Babauta’s contributions to public service, his leadership, and his unwavering commitment to the betterment of the Commonwealth will be remembered for generations to come. His dedication to his work and the people he served earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and citizens alike.
The thoughts and condolences of the entire community are with Mr. Babauta’s wife Lolita, his children and family during this difficult time. His memory and the impact he made on the Commonwealth will not be forgotten.
