Former Senator Tom Fisher officially announced his candidacy for the Office of Attorney General of Guam in the 2026 election.

Fisher told KUAM last December that he was considering running for the position when he departed the Republican caucus after not securing a seat in the 38th Guam Legislature.

“The Office of Attorney General is vital to the justice system and the people it serves,” said Fisher. “I believe the current Attorney General has fallen short of the expectations of the people of Guam. My candidacy is driven by a commitment to restoring confidence in this office and ensuring justice is administered fairly and effectively for all.”

In a news release issued Thursday, Fisher noted his extensive career includes significant victories in high-profile cases, service as a Guam prosecutor, and time as a Navy Judge Advocate General (JAG).

He adds that his decision to enter the race is rooted in his dedication to ensuring that the people of Guam have an Attorney General who prioritizes integrity, accountability, and justice.

Attorney Peter Santos announced his bid for AG back in January.
