Nissan Guam announces new leadership changes

Nissan announces the promotion of four employees for its Guam operations with Arnel Bonto, Tom Quiogue, Journey Beltran and Rose Manibusan moving to key executive positions.
The leadership transition follows the planned retirement of longtime President and CEO Van Shelly and General Sales Manager Brian Downey.
“Mr. Shelly and his team have led Nissan’s Worldwide Employee Satisfaction Surveys every year, so it was an easy choice to follow his recommendations of promoting from within to fill these executive positions,” said Judy Wheeler, Divisional Vice President, Nissan Sales & Regional Operations. “This transition has been thoughtfully planned to ensure Nissan Guam’s continued success, and I have full confidence in the leadership of these four stellar individuals to continue to embody the values of Nissan Guam, to carry out its long-term vision of excellent service, and to continue earning the trust of the people of Guam.”
Arnel Bonto will succeed Shelly as President and CEO, having been part of Nissan Guam since 2003 when he joined the company as Assistant Controller. He was later promoted to Controller and then General Manager, a role he has held since 2020.
Journey Beltran will move into Bonto’s current role as General Manager. Beltran joined Nissan Guam in 2010 as a General Technician, before being promoted to Shop Foreman and Service Manager.
Tom Quiogue will serve as General Sales Manager with the retirement of Brian Downey, who has also served in this position for more than three decades. Quiogue joined Nissan Guam in 2011 as a Lot Attendant and rose through the ranks as Used Car Coordinator, Sales Consultant, Business Development Center Supervisor and Assistant General Sales Manager.
Rose Manibusan will assume the role of Service Manager. She joined Nissan Guam in 2005 as a Biller and was a Service Advisor from 2008 until her promotion to Assistant Service Manager in 2022.
“Both Mr. Shelly and Mr. Downey have been tremendous assets to Nissan and will be dearly missed, but we wish them the absolute best in enjoying their retirement,” said Wheeler. “At the same time, we look forward to Mr. Bonto, Mr. Beltran, Mr. Quiogue and Ms. Manibusan continues to maintain the excellent reputation Nissan Guam has built over the years.”
