A trial is expected in two weeks for a father accused in the death of his one-year-old baby boy. 

Defendant Paul Cruz appeared before Judge Vernon Perez in Superior Court today. 

The court is expected to mull over the prosecution's request to have the former chief medical examiner who performed the autopsy to testify virtually. 

As reported, Cruz and co-defendant Giltinan Ramangmou were accused in the November 2023 death of their child.

Ramangmou was sentenced to three years in prison last December.
