Two local businesses failed to pass recent inspections conducted by the Department of Public Health.

The Division of Environmental Health released the results late Friday.

Officials announced that Alice’s Coffee Shop Chinese Cuisine in Harmon got a grade ‘D’ and the sanitary permit was suspended due to cockroach infestation.

Inspectors also finding during their March 5 inspection that the restaurant had food contact surfaces that were not cleaned and sanitized, there were no food contamination prevention measures in place, and garbage was not properly disposed among other demerits.

Health officials also suspended the permit for Chode Manufacturer in Hagatna following an inspection conducted on March 11.

The company received a grade ‘D’ for multiple violations, to include food not meeting temperature requirements, presence of insects being observed, and the premises was not properly maintained or free of litter.
