The Guam Department of Education is excited to share that John F. Kennedy High School passed its annual sanitation inspection with a grade “B.”

The inspection, conducted by the Department of Public Health & Social Services, took place on March 11 to 13, 2025. The school had 19 demerits, an improvement from last year with a grade “C” and 31 demerits.

Dr. Asherdee Rosete, Principal at John F. Kennedy High School, shared:

“On behalf of the administrative teams, Mrs. Carla Masnayon and I would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated staff, faculty, and students of John F. Kennedy HS and Simon Sanchez High HS (SSHS) for their tireless efforts and hard work in preparing the school for inspection. The collaborative efforts of Islander Pride and Sharks Spirit have not gone unnoticed, ensuring a safe environment for our communities so that teaching and learning remain the focal point of the organization. Teamwork reflects our commitment to the students we serve. The unwavering efforts and specialized skills of the General Pacific Services (GPS) Maintenance Team - Chris Lopez, John Flores, Antonio Abad, Nixon Silva, Ernesto Sojo, Yolanda Madjos, Linda Lampawog, Lita Yeban, and Angie Dio under the leadership of Eleasar “Sang” Calalang, cannot be overstated.  The GPS team’s meticulous attention to detail and pride in their work were vital to achieving this rating.  Last, but certainly not least, Ms. Tessie Cruz – we would be remiss if we did not acknowledge your stellar work ethic and the tireless hours that you dedicated to ensuring every aspect of the campus met or exceeded the expectations. Thank you for all that you do.  Once again, thank you to the JFKHS and SSHS communities.”

The inspection grade underscores the ongoing commitment to providing a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

It highlights the school’s exemplary hygiene practices, maintained facilities, and adherence to health regulations.

“I extend my deepest appreciation to the entire JFKHS and SSHS communities for their teamwork, which reflects our shared commitment to excellence in education and service to our students in a safe and clean learning environment,” said Dr. Barbara Adamos, Acting Superintendent.

The school officials will continue to prioritize sanitization and safety protocols, ensuring that the facilities remain models of cleanliness.
