On Saturday at their store at the Micronesia Mall, Docomo Pacific and Inetnon Gefpa'go kicked off their partnership with a special event.

Marilyn Borja is the EVP of the Consumer Business unit with Docomo Pacific.

“We thought we would announce this partnership, this would be year round and we're excited for all the things we'll be doing,” said Borja. “They're no stranger to perpetuating the culture through song, through art, through dance and our hope in this partnership is that we incorporate technology and we're excited for that.”

Saturday's event was an immersive experience with cultural dancers and weaving demonstrations, so fitting as it is Mes CHamoru and according to Inetnon Gefpa'go Director Vince Reyes, the group celebrates 25 years this year.

“We thought what better way to incorporate technology and partner with docomo because as well all know we are still recovering from COVID, the typhoon, all of us are trying to figure out how to continue to elevate our culture and our island in different ways and this partnership is a way for us to kind of show how we can incorporate youth, technology, and culture,” said Borja.

Along with live musical performances from Ma'lak mo'na, Microchild, and Southern Roots, Inetnon Gefpa'go also premiered their new original tune- Tasi-hu which was made possible through several of Guam's talented artists.

“Our last single was four years ago during the pandemic. So this is our first song and we're excited to be able to launch it here,” said Reyes.

The song can be streamed and purchased on any musical platform.

“As Mes CHamoru should be everyday, Todu Dia Kada-dia, its important for us to launch this today as Docomo is all about bringing tomorrow's islands, today, it's close to our hearts we're also forging in new waters, so the launch of this song was perfect for us. Not just on Guam but the CNMI,” said Borja.
