Department of Labor announces 2025 Guam Apprenticeship Forum event

The Guam Department of Labor announced the 2025 Guam Apprenticeship Forum, taking place on April 29, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Guam Grand Ballroom.
This one-day, free event is open to businesses interested in saving money through tax credits offered by the Guam Registered Apprenticeship Program while developing a skilled workforce.
GRAP is a workforce development program that helps businesses train employees through structured, on-the-job learning and classroom instruction.
Participating employers are entitled to tax credits against their gross receipts tax liability equal to 50% of the eligible training costs paid or incurred by the business.
The Guam Apprenticeship Forum will feature expert panel discussions, industry insights, and everything you need to know about Registered Apprenticeship programs, including GRAP.
Attendees will also hear from actual GRAP employers about how the program has helped their businesses and how it can benefit others looking to build a stronger workforce. Participants will gain valuable knowledge on how apprenticeships can provide hands-on training opportunities and financial incentives.
“Our goal is to bridge the gap between employers and job seekers by promoting apprenticeships as a key pathway to workforce development,” said David Dell’Isola, GDOL Director. “Whenever I speak to GRAP employers, they are amazed that this program isn’t more widely used. This forum will provide businesses with the tools they need to build a strong, skilled team while maximizing available tax credits.”
“Our administration continues to invest in long-term solutions that strengthen our economy and create opportunity for our people. Apprenticeship programs are a win-win—they help businesses grow and give our people a direct path to quality careers. I encourage employers across all industries to take advantage of this forum and be part of building Guam’s skilled workforce,” Governor Lou Leon Guerrero added.
Attendees can also expect engaging discussions with industry leaders, networking opportunities, and firsthand information on how to start or participate in an apprenticeship program.
Whether you’re an employer looking to establish an apprenticeship pipeline or seeking cost-saving strategies for workforce development, this forum will provide essential resources to guide you.
