Late Wednesday morning the Yona Mayor staff, Park Police, the Department of Public Works and units with the Guam Fire Department responded to a grassfire by Pago Bay.

It was during a routine patrol when Park Police Field Supervisor Sgt. Keane Pangelinan, spotted the grassfire near the shore.

As KUAM reported last month, several Government of Guam agencies and volunteers came together to clean up this particular area of Pago Bay that was riddled with trash, white goods, old tires, and even abandoned vehicles.

We should note the fire danger remains high for the island as the dry trade-wind pattern persists across the marianas. in its weekly regional weather outlook, the National Weather Service Guam said the fire danger will continue to climb in the coming days and you should refrain from any outdoor burning.
