Help siblings of Guam son Dante Taitano fly to funeral

After an extensive seven-day international recovery effort, the body of the fourth US Army soldier who went missing during a training exercise in Lithuania has been discovered.
The four US soldiers assigned to the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division were reported missing on March 25 while on a training exercise to recover another army vehicle.
The bodies of the other missing soldiers were found Monday after the M88 Hercules they were in was pulled from a body of water.
In a statement, 3rd Infantry Division Commanding General Christopher Norrie said, “Though we have received some closure, the world is darker without them.”
Family have confirmed Guam son PFC. Dante Gogo Taitano of Dededo is one of the soldiers who died.
He was 21 years old and serving on his first deployment.
Joshua Jr. Mafnas described his brother Dante as very energetic and caring and said he loved to cook for his friends.
Taitano was a mechanic in the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team of the Third Infantry Division.
His brother said he was full of excitement the day of his Army graduation.

“Yeah, I was very proud of him. He was, yeah, he, he loved the Army. He was very, very excited and proud to be in the military as well,” said Mafnas.
The US Army is investigating the cause of the crash.
Norrie said, “We continue to stand by the families and loved ones through this incredibly difficult time. Now, it’s time to bring them home.”
Dante’s sudden passing has left his family, friends, and fellow soldiers in “profound grief.”
Loved ones have set up a fundraiser to raise funds to help Dante's siblings fly out to the funeral.
The Gofundme says, “The military is only paying for three people to fly out and go to the service. Dante has four other siblings that want to see their brother.”
