A police death investigation is underway after a decomposed body was found in Anigua Friday night. 

Officers got the call around 5:25 pm after a man walking along the beach area in Anigua found the body on the sand behind The Lime Event Venue. 

Detectives with the Guam Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene. 

Authorities cordoned off the area with crime scene tape and used flashlights to search the scene for clues. 

The body was wrapped in a white sheet before officials with the Chief Medical Examiner's office took the body from the scene for autopsy. 

No word yet if foul play is a factor in the investigation. 

The victim has not yet been identified. 

 GPD said they will release more information as soon as they can.
