Trial is set to begin this month for the two men accused in the killing of Ryan Chaco.

Co-defendants Eithen Mendiola and Frank Reyes Jr. appeared before Judge John Terlaje in Superior Court today.

Special Assistant Attorney General Curtis Van De Veld told the court trial is expected to take two and a half weeks, as more than 70 witnesses are involved.

He notes each defendant made a confession implicating the other.

Jury selection is set to begin on April 21.

As we reported, Mendiola allegedly told police the victim made unwanted sexual advances toward him before the pair started to fight.

Mendiola allegedly admitted to stabbing Chaco repeatedly in the neck and chest, claiming it was self defense.

Reyes allegedly tried to burn the evidence setting Chaco's Dededo home on fire.
