Guam Power Authority announces scheduled outages in Tumon and Dededo

The Guam Power Authority is conducting maintenance outages in the villages of Tumon and Dededo to make system improvements to avoid future outages.
The preventative outage is scheduled for Friday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Customers affected in the Upper Tumon area include: Tumon View Plaza, residents behind Tumon View Plaza, Maui Well, Tasi 17 Condos and surrounding areas.
Customers affected in the Dededo area include: Transpacific Communications, all Harmon cliff line residents, Two Lovers Point, Global Venture LLC/Shen Chi Jung, US Navy Booster Pump, LMS, Harmon Substation, and surrounding areas.
In addition, traffic lights at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 16, and the intersection of Route 1 and Route 14 will also be affected by this outage.
In most cases, the job can be done with no impact to customers; however, sometimes the power needs to be shut off in order for the crews to work safely.
If you have a generator, make sure your main breaker is in the open position for the safety of our line crew.
Have a plan for alternate power sources for electrical medical equipment, charge all cell phones, and minimize opening refrigerator and freezer doors during the outage.
