What charges have been approved for Guam Department of Education superintendent Dr. Kenneth Swanson, and what do they mean? Those questions are expected to be answered tomorrow.

So far, education officials staying tight-lipped, only saying the details of the situation will be disclosed during Tuesday’s Guam Education Board meeting. This development follows reports that GDOE may have missed out on millions in federal grants, and an appeal to U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon to reverse a decision halting COVID-19 funding.

That decision effectively canceled GDOE’s approved use of American Rescue Plan funds for its 12-school refurbishment plan.

It’s these urgent matters that will also be up for discussion on Wednesday during a legislative oversight on GDOE.
