The 18-year-old woman behind the wheel of a car that crashed into a concrete pole, killing her passenger is under arrest.

Guam police took her into custody three weeks after the tragic crash.

It happened on March 29 along Route 1 and Route 27A in Dededo.

Hayle Siguenza is arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide, reckless driving, driving impaired, speeding in a posted zone, imprudent driving and no seat belt.

Investigators said Siguenza was heading north when she crashed into the pole.

Her passenger, 37-year-old Scott Cruz, was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

The Guam Highway Patrol Division found that Siguenza was negligent prior to and in the moments leading up to the collision.
