Guam Memorial Hospital successfully hosts first-ever Trauma Nurse training for ER nurses

A new milestone for Guam’s medical community as Guam Memorial Hospital hosted its first trauma nursing core course, bringing critical training closer to home.
From April to April 10, GMH held its inaugural Trauma Nurse Core Course training, equipping ER nurses with advanced skills to deliver high-quality trauma care.
The program was led by course Director Maria Yabut in partnership with the Emergency Nurse Association and made possible through federal grant support secured by GMHA leadership.
The training certified 11 new TNCC providers and four instructors, allowing future courses to be conducted entirely in-house.
Hospital officials said this initiative boosts nurse confidence, promotes evidence-based practice, and underscores GMH’s commitment to healthcare excellence for Guam.
