An update on the search for missing boater, 58-year-old Jeffrey Hattori.

The U.S. Coast Guard suspended search efforts as of Saturday evening, honoring a request from Hattori's family to delay the public announcement.

As KUAM first reported, Hattori departed the Hagatna Boat Basin around 5:30 a.m. on April 12, and was expected to return by 4 p.m. that same day.

The massive search effort spanned over 90,000 square nautical miles across 48 search patterns, with support from the USCGC Oliver Henry, U.S. Navy P-8 Poseidon, HSC-25 Knighthawk Aircraft, a U.S. Coast Guard HC-130 Hercules, Station Apra Harbor’s 45-foot response boats, and Guam Fire rescue teams.

Anyone with information about the 14-foot skiff, “Lady G,” is urged to contact JRM at 671-355-4826 or 1-877-418-0168.
