A massive book donation initiative is underway to support students in Chuuk state, thanks to a collaboration between Guam organizations and private partners.

The Foneni Achocho Sensu Athletic Organization, alongside the Ayuda Foundation, has secured and shipped 116 pallets of next-use textbooks to Chuuk, books originally set for disposal at the Guam Department of Education.

GDOE, with support from Matson Navigation Company, Pacific Trucking, and Ambros Inc., joined the effort to load, transport, and ship the materials, all free of charge.

The books cover all subjects for grades K through 12. Educators in Chuuk said this will dramatically improve classroom resources and even spark ideas for a new public library.

Chuuk’s Governor Alexander Narruhn and education officials expressed gratitude to all partners involved, calling the donation a game-changer for literacy and learning in their state.
