Man sentenced to 10 years for attempting to entice minor

A former Air Force reservist and civilian employee at Andersen Air Force Base has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for attempted enticement of a minor. 46-year-old Richard Jay Ais Solang was arrested last May after he used a social media app to communicate with someone he believed was a 13-year-old boy. That individual was actually an undercover agent.
Authorities say Solang arranged to meet the minor for sexual activity on base, where he was taken into custody by special agents. In addition to his prison sentence, Solang must serve five years of supervised release and register as a sex offender in any jurisdiction where he lives, works, or studies.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative.
