An election is heating up in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands with a November 7 election date set for the governor's race. A University of Guam poll conducted over the weekend surveyed 180 CNMI citizens from Saipan.
Based on this poll, it appears our neighbors to the north are going have a very close election as 27% of those polled said they are voting for Benigno Fitial. Another 27% would vote for Heinz Hofschniender, 19% said they are going to vote for Juan Guerrero, 12% said Ramone De Leon Guerrero and 16% simply did not know.
Another survey is expected to be conducted next week to include citizens of Tinian and Rota.
