Guam's coin collecting community can now look forward to adding a commemorative Guam coin to their kitties as Governor Felix Camacho recently appointed Shawn Gumataotao as the liaison to the U.S. Mint. "What we're looking for is the publics input the themes and the stories will be reflective or emblematic of Guam - what is that exactly. That's what the people will determine, that's we want them to decide," said Gumataotao.

You can submit your ideas via e-mail to the Governor's Office guamquarter@guam.gov, and residents have until February 15 to do so. The submissions will be narrowed down to ten to be given to the governor, from which he will pick two to send to the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury and the U.S. Mint.

Gumataotao says the Guam quarter will be in circulation for at least 30 years and should last for at least 100 years.
