GEC looking for precinct officials
Guam - The Guam Election Commission is looking for 290 precinct officials in total for upcoming elections for 58 precincts spread out across 21 polling places. Executive director Maria Pangelinan says interested applicants must be a registered voter and be prepared for the amount of responsibility required of them.
"It's a long day, but its excellent community service for anybody who wants to help, they will be held accountable for the number of ballots sent out to precinct and they will be held accountable for the number that come back," she said.
She adds a $170 stipend will be provided for each election and precinct officials will have to attend training every Saturday beginning in August. Applications can either be picked up at the GEC in Hagatna or http://gec.guam.gov/.
