An autopsy was performed on the man who tried to rob a Dededo home before being shot and killed by the homeowner.

Police have yet to confirm his identity. His death was ruled a homicide. 

Criminal investigators are working to find the suspect's relatives. 

As KUAM reported, the suspect suffered a gunshot to the abdomen early Monday after being caught on private property along Alegeta Road. 

The homeowner was treated at the hospital for an eye injury he suffered during the encounter.

We should note, the Castle Doctrine law allows a homeowner to use deadly force to protect their homes. 

The police investigation is ongoing.
