Charges downgraded for sex abuse defendant, victim had memory issues

A man accused in repeatedly raping a young girl cuts a deal with prosecutors after the victim claims she could not remember the sexual abuse.
Defendant Lorenzo Dehres was initially charged with multiple counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly raping the child for years starting when she was only 10.
Prosecutors told the court this week the victim told them she was having memory issues and only recalled that the defendant physically hurt her.
Dehres pleaded guilty to family violence charges.
Prosecutors admitting they would not have been able to prove the sex abuse at trial.
He was released from prison after getting a three year suspended prison sentence.
