The Tiyan High School Air Force JROTC program has once again demonstrated excellence, earning a 100% score and an “Exceeds Standards” rating during its Headquarters AFJROTC Unit Assessment conducted on March 6, 2026.

This marks the second consecutive year the Titan Cadets have achieved this highest distinction, an exceptional accomplishment that reflects the strength and consistency of the program.

The rigorous assessment evaluates multiple aspects of the unit, including leadership, curriculum, operations, community service, and cadet engagement. According to the official inspector, the Tiyan AFJROTC unit stood out for its strong cadet leadership, active participation, and commitment to selfless service within the community.

As part of the evaluation, several cadets were individually recognized for their outstanding performance. Three Titan Cadets were awarded the Outstanding Performer Certificate, while one cadet received the prestigious Air Force JROTC coin, recognizing exemplary performance and dedication above and beyond expectations.

Beyond the inspection results, the AFJROTC program at Tiyan High School continues to play a vital role in student development. Fully integrated into the school’s National Career Academy Coalition (NCAC) Model Academy framework, the program supports not only leadership and character building, but also provides students with meaningful exposure to career pathways, discipline, and civic responsibility.

Under the instructional leadership of Colonel (Ret.) Frank A. Flores and Chief Master Sergeant (Ret.) Ronald G. Taitague, the program has built a culture rooted in excellence, accountability, and service. Their mentorship has helped shape cadets into confident leaders both within the school and throughout the community.
