The Consulate-General of Japan in Hagatna has announced that Joseph Tenorio has been awarded the Prestigious Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold and Silver Rays.

The honor, bestowed on April 29, 2026, recognizes Tenorio’s 44 years of dedicated service as senior staff adviser at the Consulate-General of Japan in Hagatna from 1982 to 2026.

Throughout his tenure, Tenorio provided vital support to successive consuls-general—serving under 20 heads of mission—while playing a key role in political affairs and consular operations.

His decades of commitment have helped strengthen cooperation and deepen mutual understanding between Japan and Guam.
